Hot application conditions can cause automotive coatings to dry before they flow and level properly. PPG Omni MR188 is a very slow reducer formulated for use from 85°F to 95°F, making it the appropriate Omni reducer for high-temperature spraying and larger refinishing projects.
MR188 is compatible with PPG Omni MBC acrylic basecoat and MTK acrylic urethane single-stage paint. MBC uses MR188 at a 1:1 ratio. Standard MTK application uses a 4:1:1 ratio of paint, hardener, and reducer, while the higher-solids MTK option uses a 4:1:1/2 ratio.
Use MR188 only with coatings that identify it as a compatible component. Follow the current technical data sheet for the selected paint system, mixing ratio, and application conditions.
